What is CORGI?
CORGI is recognised as the UK's gas safety watchdog. In order to ensure that consumers receive a professional and safe service, CORGI keeps a register of gas professionals who can carry out work safely and competently. You must always ask to see the CORGI ID card of any gas engineer that carries out work in your home.

What is OFTEC?
OFTEC is the Oil Firing Technical Association. OFTEC promote excellence in oil heating and cooking appliances and maintain a database of registered oil technicians that are trained and qualified to the latest government standards, inspected regularly and appropriately insured to undertake work.

Annual boiler service and gas safety inspection
Also known as annual safety checks, gas safety inspections, boiler safety checks and/or boiler services, this includes the call out service for a qualified CORGI or OFTEC registered gas or oil engineer to service your boiler and heating system.

What does a gas boiler service and safety inspection include?
Typically a gas boiler service is a safety and efficiency inspection which includes the following:

• Boiler performance test including checking of gas boiler controls
• Testing of flue terminals and output
• Checking pipework and ventilation
• Gas pressure and heat input check
• Full testing of all gas boiler components and functionality including: heat exchangers; burners; combustion fan; seals (gas and water); and ignition system
• Disassembly and cleaning of key components

In addition we will also provide you with advice on using your central heating system energy efficiently.

Annual oil boiler service and safety inspection
Also known as servicing and commissioning for pressure jet appliances e.g. boilers, some range cookers and vaporising appliances e.g. range cookers, stoves, room heaters etc.

What does an oil boiler service and safety inspection include?
We will clean and test your boiler to ensure it is running efficiently and performing at its optimum level, this will include:

• Performance test including checking of oil boiler controls
• Testing of flue terminals and output
• Removal of oil burner and testing of mechanical components
• Removal of dust and soot from the water jacket body
• Checking pipework and ventilation
• Full testing of all oil boiler components and functionality
• Disassembly and cleaning of key components
