Energy Efficient Central Heating Systems
For central heating systems, renewable energy technologies are an efficient way to heat and power your home and a way to save money on your fuel bills in the long term. Additional renewable energy technologies also lower your carbon footprint and help to reduce climate change.
PH Jones has over 8 years experience providing and installing energy efficient central heating systems in homes across England and Wales and is involved in a number of initiatives including contracting to Eaga plc for the provision of grant based energy efficient systems for properties in England and Wales.
Although current expansion plans are in place, the energy efficient central heating team currently operates within the North West of England, the Midlands and North Wales.
We are accredited through the former Clear Skies Installer Registration Scheme - registration number 2138535 and are pre-registered with the BRE UK Microgeneration Installation Certification Scheme. Employees undertaking renewable installations are BEPEC qualified.
With increasing concerns for our environment, and therefore additional legislation being implemented, we have been developing our services to address these needs.
As a member state of the EU, we have European Directives which we should follow. These are designed to help guide Europe into ways of being more efficient with our use of energy and other resources. The European Union aims to reduce energy consumption by 18% by 2020.
In order for the UK to have a low carbon economy, it will be necessary to supply our energy via a flexible, localised system using renewable (biomass, wind, wave) and micro-generation (combined heat and power, fuel cells, solar panels) energies.
The European Commission has proposed targets for each member State’s use of energy from renewable sources to be achieved by 2020. Sweden has the highest target at 49% (however it is already achieving 40%) followed by France, at 23%. The UK must reach 15%, which the government aims to achieve by setting an interim target to produce 12% of all UK electricity from renewable sources by 2010. This is equivalent to 10,000 megawatts of electricity which would be enough to supply 6.5 million households.
Everyone needs to consider how they can help to contribute to the preservation of our environment, from choices of energy use to recycling and changing the ways we live to be less wasteful. Below are some options for alternative energy use, and other aspects of environmental awareness.
