PH Jones Ltd acquires Coolfactor, a specialist engineering and building services

Leading provider of property maintenance services, PH Jones Ltd has announced the acquisition of a specialist CCV (Comfort Cooling and Ventilation), M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) engineering and data communications company, Coolfactor Group Limited.

The second acquisition in 6 months, the company adds to the breadth of services available to the public sector through air conditioning and refrigeration and increases development opportunities within the private commercial sector.

Based in Bexley, Kent, Coolfactor provides CCV, M&E and data cabling installation, maintenance and repairs primarily to commercial customers throughout London, the Home Counties and Midlands.

The move adds a further 79 staff seeing PH Jones as one of the largest specialist HVAC/R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) companies within UK.

Martin Jones, Managing Director of PH Jones, commented:  “The provision of air conditioning and refrigeration services is a natural progression for PH Jones, and Coolfactor has an excellent reputation in the industry. The company has similar roots to PH Jones being family owned and managed with strong values based on customer care, such that, the majority of work is repeat business and referrals. The acquisition is a key part of our development plans enabling the provision of holistic maintenance services, not just within domestic property maintenance, but within commercial maintenance. Coolfactor has a desirable client list including Barclays and the Spirit Group.”

All key management including Coolfactor’s Managing Director, Tony Phillp will remain with the business and the company will continue to trade and operate independently as Coolfactor.

Tony commented: “We are delighted and excited to be part of PH Jones – the merger of the two companies is a natural fit, providing further opportunities for our clients and also allowing them expansion into CCV and the commercial sector. We see significant development opportunities for both companies, and we will also have the added benefits of joining a large, national organisation with the ability to target customers nationwide.”

The acquisition is a significant move for PH Jones, strengthening their service provision in the UK. PH Jones has enjoyed significant growth over the past few years, largely as a result of securing social housing maintenance contracts and through the diversification of services including contracting within the electrical and the utilities sectors. The company now employs 900 staff including 600 engineers across 25 regional offices.
