Gas contractor PH Jones Ltd helps residents to ‘go green’
Seven housing associations in Leeds have got together to host an energy efficiency event for their residents, entitled Green with the Team. The aim was to raise environmental awareness and encourage everyone to think what they could do to consider the impact on the environment.
One of the main attractions was the Leeds Rhinos, who joined in to encourage youngsters to be healthy. Visitors were invited to meet members of the rugby team, train with the coaching staff and take part in all sorts of ‘green fun’. Residents were encouraged to pot plants and to consider how they could increase recycling and reduce energy usage.
Specialist plumbing and central heating contractor, PH Jones Ltd participated by publishing advice on energy saving tips for the home, and provided fun for everyone with a light hearted eco-quiz. PH Jones also arranged a demonstration of a boiler; the type which they fit in homes for Unity Housing, helping residents to understand how to operate the boilers to their optimum efficiency and economy.
Over 400 people attended the event, held in the Marjorie and Arnold Ziff Centre in Leeds. Residents were able to ask PH Jones, as a specialist central heating contractor about the gas appliances in their homes and to learn more about energy efficiency.
Communications Officer Fiona Roberts is pictured with David Harris of Radio Jcom, outlining the importance of annual gas safety checks and why it is essential that this servicing and maintenance work is carried out.
