Social Housing

When PH Jones was founded in 1963 it was dedicated to providing heating and maintenance services for private householders. However in 1991 we started looking at the social and public sector housing market and in the mid 1990s we were successful in winning our first public sector housing contract with Wrexham County Council.

Throughout the 1990s and to the present day, we continued to win work and we now work as a social housing contractor for over 40 housing associations and local authorities nationwide.

The Social Housing Division is divided into two sections:

  • Maintenance
  • Property Services

The Director of the social housing division is Derek Corbishley.

Social Housing Maintenance

Predominantly this section provides servicing and maintenance of central heating systems and general property maintenance such as plumbing and electrics.

Property services

The property services section is responsible for heating replacement programmes, electrical rewiring, kitchen and bathroom replacement, cavity wall and loft insulation and some external works such as windows. The section also undertakes a combination of cyclical, responsive refurbishment and replacement services including doors and windows, rendering, guttering etc.

Renewable energy products

The division also provides renewable energy products, such as solar, ground source heat pumps and biomass energy.

Clients

Clients are mainly housing associations and local authorities; the company is currently a main contractor on the GM Procurement Framework, on the Cumbria Partner Framework and for Ealing local authority. In addition we are working with Chester & District Housing Trust, Crawley Borough Council, Cannock Chase District Council and Manchester City Council as well as being part of the London Area Procurement Network.
